'If we broke up the big banks tomorrow,' she shouted, 'would that end racism?'
'No!' her audience replied.
'Would that end sexism?'
'No!'
And on she went, razzing the crowd up with a pro-big bank message couched as something very different.
Mi apuesta para las elecciones estadounidenses de 2020 es que, en el momento más inesperado, Donald Trump mirará directamente a cámara y, al grito de "¡gracias por participar!", el objetivo (el espectador que durante estos cuatro años no ha podido apartar la vista del espectáculo) enfocará a otra cámara (la de verdad) y se descubrirá que hemos estado viviendo el proceso de selección de un reality marca de la casa. Matt Christman, de Chapo Trap House, dice que la idea que tiene Trump de ser presidente es verse a sí mismo en televisión tuiteando mientras hace como que preside.
Si este episodio de Trumpception no llegara a ocurrir, mi segundo caballo favorito es la combinación de que 1) el partido Demócrata tendrá como candidato a Biden, Bloomberg, ¡Clinton!, o algún otro representante del extremo centro sensato y responsable; 2) Trump volverá a ganar gracias a la incompetencia de unos adversarios que vuelven a recurrir un San Antonio menos entretenido que el suyo; 3) y por supuesto la culpa será de los rusos.
